Kandy gunpowder cocktail recipe
Created by Hoppers in Soho, this is their signature drink which accentuates Amrut whisky's tropical flavours by the addition of passionfruit. Influenced by Sri Lankan cuisine and flavours, a savoury streak runs through the drink in the form of fresh green peppercorns.
Ingredients
Whole passionfruit
15ml Fino sherry
7.5ml Sugar syrup
5 Fresh green peppercorns
Glass
Rocks
How to mix
Bruise the peppercorns in a Boston tin, add the other ingredients and shake with ice. Single strain into a rocks glass with ice.
Garnish
A quarter of a passionfruit with several peppercorns on.
